West Virginia Filmmakers Film Festival
Filmmaker of the Year Award

The Landmark Studio for the Arts created the WV Filmmakers Festival to promote the WV filmmaking industry by showcasing WV Films. The festival allows WV filmmakers to congregate, exchange ideas, meet the public and make new industry contacts. The WV Filmmakers Guild holds their annual meeting at the festival and for the second time the WV Film Office will be sponsoring a Filmmaker of the Year Award.

The award will be given to the filmmaker whose most recent work or lifetime work has had the utmost impact on the WV film industry. The Landmark Studio has commissioned an original bronze by Sculptor Bill Hopen as the award. Each year the WVFFF Committee of the Landmark Studio oversees the Filmmaker of the Year selection. Nomination Committee consists of Landmark Studio board, WV Filmmakers Guild, industry professionals and enthusiasts from around the state to arrive at the broadest consensus possible. This year we invite the Board of Directors of the WV International Film Festi! val, Appalachian Film Festival as well as the Huntington Regional Film Commission.
